1. Is EFT like psychology? EFT is not psychotherapy, but our work can draw on some principles and processes also found in psychological approaches, such as emotional awareness, cognitive reframing and working with difficult emotions. My sessions can involve deeper exploration of beliefs, memories, metaphors, protective parts and emotional patterns that may influence how you respond today. Sometimes we may bring into awareness patterns that have been outside your conscious awareness, allowing new perspectives and ways of responding to emerge. Many people I work with have also experienced therapy or other forms of personal development. EFT can offer another way of working with emotional patterns and can sometimes complement other forms of support. If you're experiencing significant or persistent mental-health difficulties, EFT should not replace appropriate care from a qualified mental-health professional.
2. What do you mean by social anxiety? Social anxiety isn't simply being shy or preferring smaller groups. It can involve fear of being judged, feeling self-conscious around others, worrying about what to say or wear, comparing yourself to others, or feeling uncomfortable in social situations. You might avoid dinners, parties or speaking in groups — or you may go but spend the whole time worrying about how you're coming across. You may even feel fine during a social situation but become exhausted afterwards, replaying conversations or wondering if you said the wrong thing. In our work, we explore the thoughts, emotions, physical sensations and deeper patterns behind these reactions, with the aim of helping you feel safer, more grounded and more at ease with yourself and others.
6. Do I need to know what's wrong before I start? Not at all. You might arrive with a very specific issue you'd like to work on, or simply with a feeling that something isn't quite right. You don't need to have everything figured out before we begin. Together, we'll gently explore what you're experiencing and identify where it feels useful to start. Sometimes understanding comes through the process itself.
3. What happens during a session? Every session is different and tailored to what you bring. We begin by exploring what's happening for you and what you'd like to work on. Depending on your needs, we may work with emotions, physical sensations, beliefs, memories, metaphors or protective parts, using EFT tapping alongside mindful awareness and nervous-system regulation. I'll guide you throughout the process. You don't need to know how to do EFT beforehand, and you don't have to share anything you're not comfortable sharing.
7. What if I've already tried therapy? That's completely okay — and your previous experience can sometimes give us a helpful starting point, as you may already have some awareness of your thoughts, emotions and patterns. Many people I work with have already seen a therapist or explored other approaches and are interested in discovering different ways of working with what they're experiencing. EFT can offer another way of working with emotional patterns, particularly when you understand something intellectually but still experience the same emotional or physical reaction. It also gives you a practical tool you can learn and use independently to support your own emotional regulation and self-care. EFT can complement other forms of support. If you're currently working with a mental-health professional, you can discuss with them whether EFT might fit alongside your existing care.
4. How many sessions will I need? There is no fixed number. Every person and every situation is different. I usually suggest starting with three sessions. The first sessions give us time to get to know each other, build trust and create a sense of safety before exploring things more deeply. As we work together, we'll see what feels useful and appropriate for you. Sometimes one or two sessions are enough to work through a specific issue; sometimes a little more time is helpful to explore deeper patterns. There is no predetermined programme. We'll regularly check in together and decide what feels right for you.
8. What if I can't afford the standard fee? I understand that investing in your wellbeing isn't always easy. A limited number of reduced-fee sessions are available at €45 per session for people who would otherwise find the standard fee difficult. If cost is a concern, please feel comfortable mentioning it when you contact me. We can have a conversation and see what feels manageable. I want financial circumstances to be as little of a barrier as possible while also keeping the work sustainable.
Things you might be wondering.
5. Do sessions work online? Yes. EFT works very well online, and sessions take place via Zoom. You can follow the tapping and guided practices from the comfort of your own space while I guide you through the process. Many people appreciate having a familiar, private environment when exploring personal or emotional material.

What is EFT Tapping?
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), often called tapping, combines gentle finger-tapping on specific acupoints with guided verbal and emotional processing.
It brings together elements of psychological approaches such as exposure and cognitive reframing with a simple somatic practice. Research suggests that EFT can be helpful in reducing symptoms of anxiety and stress, with promising evidence also emerging across other areas of emotional wellbeing.
In sessions, tapping is used alongside mindful attention to your thoughts, emotions, physical sensations and personal experiences. It combines gentle tapping on specific points on the face and upper body with guided verbal processing.
A mind-body tool
Learn EFT.
Keep the tool.
One of the strengths of EFT is that it can also be learned as a self-help practice. Once you've experienced the process with guidance, you can learn how to use simple tapping techniques independently before a presentation, during a stressful moment, after a difficult conversation, or whenever you want to pause and reconnect with yourself.

About me
I’m Sophie Martin, a Certified Advanced EFT Practitioner accredited by EFT International (EFTi).
Originally from France, I’ve lived abroad for nearly twenty years.
Living across cultures and languages has shaped me deeply and given me a particular understanding of what it means to feel at home in yourself.
My background also includes yoga, embodied practices, theatre-based learning and public speaking. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the connection between body, emotions and self-expression especially when anxiety, self-consciousness or fear of judgment make it harder to feel comfortable being yourself.

I take Yoga classes with Sophie.
They are nice classes. I forgot about my life and I released so much tension that I couldn't hold my tears at the end of the class during Savasana. Sophie is just great!
V, France
I practiced yoga with Sophie for 3 years.
Sophie brings me in her universe, with captivating music, her soft voice and her magnetic energy. At each session she brings to the mat new ideas, sensations or one of the many disciplines she has learned. I like my morning routine with her, that wakes up my body and mind and make them more receptive to our environment.
